Danny sighs from his place on the roof, a mixture of exasperation and exhaustion crossing his face as he stretches. It had been a long day, but a good one so far. 

Dan hadn’t started any fights and was actually setting up a school tournament for those interested, Ellie had won another contest so they’d gone out for ice cream as a family, and the youngest was starting kindergarten soon. 

He glanced down, snorting under his breath at the rest of the kids. Orion and Algor were mid-battle, if it could be called that, with their partners wrestling around as well. Hopefully no one would end up getting burned- or tried to hide a hole in the wall again. 

Another sigh as he stretched, back popping in just the right spot as he took a moment to just rest from the daily exhaustion his life brought him. 

It was a good type of exhaustion, compared to his teenage years if he was being honest. Though the day wasn’t over yet, and he had a presentation of sorts to give to some Outsiders still. According to Sam there were concerns about the whole ‘mutated animal crisis’ going on. 

He almost rolled his eyes even just thinking about it. Yeah, now the authorities were worried, not when the barrier first came up or when they were getting attacked by the ghosts or even when the city got pulled into another dimension. Nope, it was now that the barrier was down, literally years later. 

Oh well, if he could convince his parents that it was okay, he could do the same to a couple of government funded worrywarts.
